STUDENTS TARDY TO CLASS
A student is tardy to class if they arrive at the class after the bell to begin
class – this definition of tardy to class must be consistently and fairly
applied by all teachers.
Teachers should never condone lateness to class. When a student arrives late,
the class should not be disrupted. The teacher should give the student a pink
“Tardiness Explanation Slip” to fill out. Three unexcused tardies to class are
equivalent to an absence. Any unexcused lateness of more than 10 minutes is to
be considered a skip, and referred to the office.
After 3 tardies to a class, the student should be referred to an administrator.
(Please send the 3 tardy slips with
a conduct report to the office.)
